The Community Game is an interactive installation where participants are encouraged to play games from prompts. These games explore various ways one can engage with a community. Many of the toys represent third places, which are not a place of work or living, but a space for gathering and socializing without hefty expenses. The Community Game does not represent a utopia, but rather an ever-evolving space influenced by participants. That is why everything presented is interactive, including the surfaces of the objects which are meant to be drawn on. The objective of this project is to cultivate community engagement through playful activities. Hopefully, this experience will motivate participants to apply their newfound insights to their own communities. It is up to us to make our community what it is. Just like in real life, we are all in this game together!
